Welcome 2010

2009 was the year husband and i welcomed our precious lil princess had couplehood turned into a family. Well, three's definitely nt a crowd now, although we kinda had to compromise on our romance... But that's another topic altogether.
Anyway, after an almost pleasant yr we've had (except for that pathetic car accident that we're involved in 2wks back), we hope that 2010 will be a better year, more prosperity, better health & showered with blessings from Him.
Personally for me, i hope my family remains strong & our love unwavering cos family is an integral foundation for success to follow. I hope i'll do well in this new job, & be a better person, a better wife, fren & daughter (i'll forget abt losing wt, & becoming fitter cos it's nvr realised!)
Happy new year everyone!

addiction to ice

this love affair, adoration for ice cubes started somewhere in my 2nd trimester. Medically it signals the lack of iron in the body hence the cravings for "non-food" items during pregnancy. But such cravings should disappear after delivery but mine is here to stay. Definitely. And i kinda welcome it! haha!

I just love ice cubes.. munching on them just relieves stress and tension, and sometimes makes me all calm and sedated. Now that I have started work and freezer-less, i am missing the ice-cube munching activity LOTS! and problem is the nearest 711 carrying those handy-pack ones as well as Gulp dispenser drink is about 15 mins uphill walk from the office! (i actually did the walk the other day... cos it was soo warm, and feeling the strain at work... just needed the relief)

Anyway, while others have started food blogs, chocoloate blogs etc... i am going to keep updating this entry of mine with a list of where to get nice ice chips/cubes to satisfy this crazy habit of mine. Who knows, i might even make new friends who are just as addicted to ice!

Places that serve great munchable ice:

  1. Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf -- small cubes of ice that's easy to the mouth and yummy to crunch
  2. KKH Maternity Ward -- medium sized cubes that are surprisingly easy to crunch. Really stress-relieving in between contractions!
  3. Kopitiam -- large square pieces that are thin and easy to crunch altho' too bad about the 30cents charge for a cup of ice
  4. Burger King -- medium flat squares that are easy to handle and fantastic to crunch!
  5. McDonald's -- small-medium squares of crystal clear ice... Awesome!
  6. Fish & Co -- thick squares with a dimple in each ice cube makes them easier to crunch and chew. As lovely as its seafood platter! haha!
  7. Discovered this just yesterday! The drinks stall at Chong Pang Food Centre... soft crushed ice... super duper yummy! this is easily my no. 1 now!

ice chips fr fish & co... i know, i know.. almost gone (this was my 2nd cup)

back again...

been gone for awhile now and back, although i must say that i'm a different person now.

left to be a wife to a wonderful husband, who got me pregnant and now am a mom to a darling precious girl.

stretchmark-ed to the max, i went through labour with eyes closed, no epidural to keep myself in touch with reality, feeling God's love and his blessing, rejuvenated and loving life like never before.

her lil hands touching our face everyday, remind us of God's presence and how blessed we are.

so yeah, I'm a mom now. a mom who is torn between being the sole caregiver, or being a contributor to the family's income.

a working mom. it's not easy. and never will be.

anyway, introducing Ms Sofya Nur Ateeya. Our beautiful gift of light. Perfect.

Sofya at 6 months. Adorable. well, i am biased. haha!
